from£108.99

Invicorp is an erectile dysfunction medication administered via injection into the base of the penis to induce an erection. Unlike ED tablets like Viagra, which are absorbed through the gut, Invicorp works locally around the penis. This makes it a viable option for men who have not had success with ED tablets or cannot take them for medical reasons.

Invicorp is available in a single strength: 25mcg/2mcg.

It contains two active ingredients, aviptadil and phentolamine mesilate, which work together to help men achieve erections suitable for sexual activity.

Description

Invicorp (Aviptadil + Phentolamine 25mcg/2ml 0.35ml)

How does Invicorp work?

The two active ingredients in Invicorp produce an erection in men who suffer from erectile dysfunction. Aviptadil works to decrease blood flow away from the penis, while phentolamine mesilate actively increases blood flow into the penis. The relationship between these two drugs is what produces longer-lasting, harder erections for men who use Invicorp.

Using Invicorp right before sexual activity should produce an erection in as little as five minutes. It may take a little longer, but you should be ready for sexual activity after about ten minutes.

Who is Invicorp for?

Invicorp is a treatment option that is usually reserved for men with erectile dysfunction who cannot take an oral medication like Viagra or Cialis. It is also great for men whose erectile dysfunction doesn’t respond to alprostadil treatments like Caverject. One study found that 61% of men who don’t respond to alprostadil successfully achieve erections while using Invicorp

How to use Invicorp

Before you use Invicorp for the first time, your prescriber will give you detailed instructions on how to administer it.

These instructions are a guide to give you an idea of how to use Invicorp, but they aren’t exhaustive. Make sure you read the instructions you get with Invicorp, and if there’s anything you aren’t sure about, let your prescriber know.

  • Clean & prep yourself: Wash and dry your hands before handling Invicorp. Collect the supplies you need including the glass Invicorp ampoule, syringe, 23 gauge needle, and 30 gauge needle.
  • Get ready to inject yourself: Attach the long 23 gauge needle to your syringe and remove the protective cap. Break off the top of the Invicorp ampoule. Draw out your prescribed dose from the ampoule, making sure to push out any remaining air. Replace the protective cap on the needle. Twist off the 23 gauge needle, and replace it with the 30 gauge needle.
  • Administer Invicorp: Clean the injection site on your penis with soap and water. Hold the syringe vertically and tap it to make any air bubbles rise to the top. Depress the plunger to push out a couple drops of fluid to make sure you don’t accidentally inject yourself with air. Position the needle perpendicular to your penis at the injection site, making sure to avoid major blood vessels and other structures. Insert the needle halfway and push the plunger of the syringe to carefully administer Invicorp. Remove the needle when you’re done.
  • Dispose of the materials: Replace the protective cap on the end of the needle. Dispose of the Invicorp ampoule, syringe, and needles in a sharps container.

Invicorp shouldn’t be used more than once a day, or more than three times per week.

How to inject Invicorp

A clinician will demonstrate how to inject the treatment before you use Invicorp for the first time. You can also find detailed diagrams in the leaflet for more information.

Invicorp needs to be administered into the side of your penis, avoiding any veins or blood vessels. You shouldn’t pierce any blood vessels or your urethra with the needle.

Do I need checkups when using Invicorp?

Your clinician will evaluate you regularly if you are on Invicorp. It’s recommended that you see your clinician every three months for as long as you’re taking it. This will help you to identify the dose that is most appropriate for you, and also to make sure that the injection is being used in the right way.

What is Invicorp?

Invicorp is an erectile dysfunction medication that you inject into the base of your penis to give you an erection. It works differently to ED tablets like Viagra, so it can be helpful for men who’ve tried these and not been successful. Instead of being released into the body through the gut like a tablet, it works locally around the penis. So for men who can’t take ED tablets for medical reasons, Invicorp may be a good alternative.

Invicorp only comes in one strength: 25mcg/2mcg.

There are two active ingredients in Invicorp that work together to help men develop erections that are suitable for sex: aviptadil and phentolamine mesilate.

What are the active ingredients in Invicorp injection?

There are two active ingredients in Invicorp that work together to help men develop erections that are suitable for sex: aviptadil and phentolamine mesilate (Aviptadil + Phentolamine 25mcg/2ml 0.35ml).

What is Invicorp used for?

Invicorp is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men who have not had success with or cannot take oral ED medications such as Viagra. It is particularly useful for those who require a different mechanism of action due to medical reasons. Administered via injection directly into the base of the penis, Invicorp helps achieve and maintain an erection suitable for sexual activity. Its active ingredients, aviptadil and phentolamine mesilate, work locally to enhance blood flow and facilitate erections, making it an effective alternative for managing ED.

How does Invicorp work?

The two active ingredients in Invicorp produce an erection in men who suffer from erectile dysfunction. Aviptadil and Phentolamine Mesilate for Erectile Dysfunction: How They Work Aviptadil and phentolamine mesilate are two pharmacological agents that are often used together in the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED), particularly in cases where other treatments have not been effective. Here's a breakdown of how each of these drugs works to promote erection:

Aviptadil

Aviptadil is a synthetic version of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), a naturally occurring peptide in the body that plays a role in vasodilation (widening of blood vessels). In the context of erectile dysfunction, aviptadil helps by:
  • Relaxing smooth muscle: VIP works by relaxing the smooth muscle in the walls of blood vessels, particularly in the corpus cavernosum (the spongy tissue of the penis that fills with blood during an erection). By relaxing these muscles, blood flow into the penis increases, making it easier to achieve and maintain an erection.
  • Increasing blood flow: The relaxation of blood vessels allows for increased blood flow to the penile tissues, which is essential for achieving an erection. Unlike other erectile dysfunction medications that act on the nitric oxide pathway (like PDE5 inhibitors), VIP works independently, which can be beneficial for patients who do not respond to traditional treatments like sildenafil (Viagra).

Phentolamine Mesilate

Phentolamine is a non-selective alpha-adrenergic antagonist, meaning it blocks the action of alpha-adrenergic receptors, which are involved in the constriction of blood vessels. For erectile dysfunction, phentolamine helps by:
  • Inhibiting vasoconstriction: Normally, the alpha-adrenergic receptors promote the constriction of blood vessels, which limits blood flow. By blocking these receptors, phentolamine prevents vasoconstriction, allowing the blood vessels in the penis to remain dilated.
  • Promoting vasodilation: By inhibiting the body's natural tendency to constrict blood vessels, phentolamine enhances the dilation effect, allowing more blood to flow into the corpus cavernosum. This helps in achieving a firmer erection.

Combination Effect

When aviptadil and phentolamine mesilate are used together, they create a synergistic effect that increases blood flow to the penis by:
  • Relaxing the blood vessels (via aviptadil)
  • Preventing vasoconstriction (via phentolamine).
This combination provides an effective treatment option for erectile dysfunction, especially in cases where traditional therapies, such as PDE5 inhibitors like sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), or vardenafil (Levitra), have not been successful.

Clinical Use

This combination of drugs is typically used as an intracavernosal injection, meaning it is injected directly into the corpus cavernosum of the penis. This allows for rapid and localized action, leading to an erection within a short time after administration. In summary, aviptadil promotes vasodilation by relaxing blood vessels, while phentolamine prevents vasoconstriction, allowing for improved blood flow to the penis. Together, they provide a targeted approach to treating erectile dysfunction. Using Invicorp right before sexual activity should produce an erection in as little as five minutes. It may take a little longer, but you should be ready for sexual activity after about ten minutes.

Who should not take Invicorp?

Invicorp injections are not suitable for everyone. Men who have certain medical conditions or are taking specific medications should avoid using Invicorp. This includes those with severe heart or vascular conditions, such as recent heart attack or stroke, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or severe cardiovascular disease. Additionally, men with anatomical deformations of the penis, such as Peyronie's disease, or those prone to priapism (prolonged erections) due to conditions like sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia should not use Invicorp. Furthermore, it is contraindicated for individuals with known hypersensitivity to aviptadil, phentolamine mesilate, or any other component of the injection. It is essential to consult with a healthcare provider to determine if Invicorp is a safe and appropriate treatment option.

What are the side effects with Invicorp?

Invicorp, like all medications, can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Common side effects include mild to moderate pain or bruising at the injection site, which typically resolves on its own. Some men may experience redness or swelling in the area where the injection was administered. Less common but more serious side effects include prolonged erections lasting more than four hours (priapism), which requires immediate medical attention to prevent permanent damage. Other possible side effects include dizziness, headache, or a drop in blood pressure. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and administration guidelines and to discuss any concerns or unusual symptoms with a healthcare provider.

Does Invicorp interact with any other medicines?

Invicorp can interact with other medications, so it is important to inform your healthcare provider about all the drugs you are currently taking, including prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal supplements. Medications that lower blood pressure, such as alpha-blockers and antihypertensives, can enhance the blood pressure-lowering effects of Invicorp, leading to dizziness or fainting. Additionally, combining Invicorp with other treatments for erectile dysfunction, such as PDE5 inhibitors (like Viagra, Cialis, or Levitra), can increase the risk of priapism and other side effects. It's crucial to avoid using other vasodilators or medications that can affect blood circulation concurrently with Invicorp. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting or stopping any medication while using Invicorp to ensure safe and effective use.
